âI am a West Midlands medical writer. The first digital cameras I had were compact – Kodak and Panasonic Lumix. I was fortunate enough to receive a Nikon D5300 DSLR in 2013. From there, I entered Amateur Photographer magazine’s online camera school in 2013 and took evening classes.
I took several types of photos: Running races (Parkrun and cross country), Buildings (WM and NW), Bear charity sculptures (Birmingham), interior projects (fruit bowl, model vehicles) and landscapes (Shropshire Hills, Staffordshire Canal).
In recent months, the majority of photos have been taken on my smartphone. I went out with a local walking group, so it’s handy to take the device out of my pocket and snap some shots of the fall scenery between the chat and the walk (while wishing I had my own device) Photo) !
This was taken at Upper Arley Village Footbridge, Worcestershire, above the River Severn. I focused on the people in the distance. Use a symmetrical composition to highlight the wear and growth of the metal structure, the fall colors of the vegetation, while getting the light of the open sky, even overcast. This image didn’t appear to be improved by basic post-processing (Windows 10 photo), so I left it as it was taken.
