OREGON – Ogle County’s last home electronics recycling event will be on Friday, November 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 909 Pines Rd. In Ogle.
This event is restricted to residents of Ogle County and a free permit is required prior to the event. Permits can be obtained by calling 815-732-4020 or emailing [emailÂ protected].
Indicate your name, address and telephone number in your e-mail, limit of one permit per household. Permits come with a full list of accepted items and other event information and instructions.
Items accepted at the electronic recycling event include all home computers, computer hardware and cables, printers, fax machines, copiers, scanners, DVD / VCRs, cable and satellite receivers, cell phones , tablets, laptops, video game equipment, all TVs and computer monitors, radios, digital clocks, stereo equipment (no wooden speakers), chippers (no tubs), landline phone systems, car radios , GPS units, sounders, calculators, calculators, iPods, MP3 players, backup power supplies, rechargeable batteries, Christmas lights and extension cords, CFLs and printer ink cartridges. Microwaves are accepted for $ 5 per unit.
A food drive will be organized in association with the electronics recycling event. All items collected will be distributed to local Ogle County pantries. Items accepted include all date canned and canned foods, as well as household cleaning supplies and items such as toothpaste, soap and other essentials. Make sure all items are sealed and not expired.
