Rochelle News-Leader | The County Electronics Recycling Event is April 29

OREGON – The Ogle County Solid Waste Management Department (OCSWMD) will host a home electronics recycling event on April 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 909 Pines Road in Oregon.

This event is for Ogle County residents only and a free permit is required prior to the event. For a free permit call 815-732-4020 or email [email protected] before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27. Include your name, address and phone number in your email.

Items accepted include all televisions and computer monitors, computers, hardware and cables, laptops, tablets, cell phones, printers, fax machines, scanners, shredders (no tubs) , copiers, video game equipment, DVD/VCRs, cable/satellite boxes. , stereo equipment, radios, digital clocks, cameras, calculators, telephone systems, Christmas light beams, extension cords, rechargeable batteries, ink cartridges for printers, CD/DVD and compact fluorescent bulbs. Microwave ovens are accepted for a fee of $5 per unit. Permits will be accompanied by a complete list of accepted items.

Limit seven large or bulky items per permit and one permit per household per month. Commercial or institutional electronic documents are not accepted at these events. Other items that are commonly brought to these events but not accepted include dehumidifiers, fans, heaters, air purifiers, coffee makers, lamps, vacuum cleaners, alkaline batteries, smoke detectors , toasters and other types of kitchen appliances.
