OREGON – The second home electronics recycling and food donation opportunity will be on Friday, October 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the County Annex Building located at 909 Pines Rd. In Oregon.
A free permit is required to attend and permits can be obtained by calling 815-732-4020 or emailing [email protected]. Please include your name, address and phone number in your email. Permits will be available until noon on October 27. Please limit one permit per household, permits are valid anytime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday, October 29.
Accepted items include all televisions and computer monitors, all computers, computer hardware and cables, backup power supplies, laptops, tablets, cell phones, DVD / VCRs, receivers cable and satellite, printers, fax machines, scanners, copiers, stereo equipment, landline telephone systems, video game equipment, digital clocks, radios, radio boxes, cameras, shredders, Christmas lights, extension cords, rechargeable batteries, printer cartridges and compact fluorescent light bulbs. Microwaves are accepted for a fee of $ 5 per unit.
If you can bring a giant television, consider bringing non-perishable foods as well. All food collected will be distributed to local pantries here in Ogle County. Make sure the food is sealed and not expired. Other items accepted include personal care items, laundry products, and household cleaning products. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
