Organizer of physical and digital photos, this gadget doubles as a projector to preserve your memories!

PIC is a photo organization system that includes a circular remote control and projector allowing users to easily manage and maintain their large number of digital photos.

As our memories grow, so do our photo albums. We take pictures almost every day to keep memories of all kinds. From camping trips to weddings, our photo albums are full of visual recordings that remind us of time spent with friends and connecting to nature.

While taking photos has never been so convenient, our photo albums are nightmares to browse and locate specific photos we’d like to come back to. PIC, a New Way to Organize Photos, is a physical and digital photo organizer designed by a team of designers for Samsung Design Membership.

Broken down into three steps, PIC helps users organize all of their memories and corresponding photos through a step-by-step guided process. Physically, PIC looks like an external hard drive, with a two-tone translucent body that looks perfectly at home on the coffee table or windowsill. Consisting of two parts, the round remote control is the main controller of PIC.

Moving on to the organizational scheme developed by the design team, PIC first asks users to remove unwanted photographs. Using the round clicker, users can project their photo albums to any external projector to magnify their photos and easily determine which photos they want to keep. On both sides of the PIC remote, a circular icon represents holding the photo in question, while a dotted line can be clicked when the user wants to delete a photo.

From there, the designers of PIC developed the highlight step. During the highlight phase, users rank the photos they have kept in order of preference. Based on a system of digital stickers, users can apply many stickers on the photos they prefer. For their less favorite photos, users don’t need to apply stickers.

Finally, during the cover phase, users can choose a cover image for the photo album which is the most representative of the memory formed by the photo album. In other words, if a photo triggers your memory of other photos taken in the same place or at the same time, then that photo will represent the whole album, leading you to all the photos that you decided to keep when you first took it. organizational stage.
