Decatur, Georgia – The City of Decatur is partnering with DART Container Corporation to host the biannual Electronics and Polystyrene Recycling Event on Saturday, December 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Decatur Public Works Building, 2635 Talley Street.

DART accepts most electronic devices, but cannot recycle microwave ovens, furniture, light fixtures, appliances, lamps, and vacuum cleaners. Items that can be recycled include batteries, computers, copiers, digital cameras, DVD players, printer cartridges, printers, radios, phones and more.

In order to recycle styrofoam, individuals must ensure that it bears the symbol “6”. Styrofoam should be rinsed off and catering containers should be kept separate from other foams. Straws, lids, tape, stickers, foam peanuts and insulation materials cannot be accepted.

The event is open to everyone. Recyclable materials must be dropped off during the hours of the event. Neither DART nor the city will be able to accept advance deposits.
