Christie® and Dead Puppet Society, an Australian production house and design company with international reach, have once again collaborated to deliver realistic visuals for its latest theatrical performance, The Wider Earth.
The award-winning story of a rebellious young Charles Darwin and his daring journey aboard HMS Beagle to the other side of the world, premiered on February 5, 2022 at the Princess Theater in Brisbane. This highly anticipated event featured an ensemble cast, remarkable puppets, cinematic screenings and an evocative original score. This is the second year in a row that Christie has provided integrated solutions support for the acclaimed live performances of Dead Puppet Society following the huge success of Ishmael in September 2021.
Highlights of The Wider Earth include stunning projections made possible by three Christie DWU1075-GS 1DLP® laser projectors equipped with the Christie Mystique™ camera-based automated alignment and recalibration solution. Content management and processing is performed by Christie Pandoras Box Players, Pandoras Box Manager and Widget Designer running the versatile and powerful Christie Pandoras Box Version 8 software.
