The most recent payment from community functions and donations comes as the foundation ends its 2021 fiscal year.

The funds will be used in several departments, within the hospital, to purchase new priority medical equipment and replace end-of-life equipment, the charity said.

Steve Cook, Executive Director of BGHF, said: “During a turbulent year, the community has demonstrated, once again, the passion and commitment to keep our hospital strong. Recent events and campaigns have received incredible support and we cannot thank our donors enough for their generosity.

As the region heads into the fifth wave of an unpredictable pandemic, Stacey Daub, President and CEO of Quinte Health Care, added, “The dedication, commitment and courage of the community this year deserves our deeper gratitude and admiration. Our Foundation partners help shape the care patients receive in the Quinte area and beyond. We are extremely grateful for the continued support.

Donors are reminded that there is still time to donate for the foundation’s annual Christmas Angels Campaign until Friday, December 31.

Donors who donate to charity before the year-end deadline will receive a tax credit on their 2021 return.
